Peter Prinz, born 1968 in Enns (Upper Austria), is a mechanical engineer, who has travelled for more than thirty years all over the world. In his spare time he has long travelled the world as an avid photographer and filmmaker.
Most of his voyages over the past two decades have taken him to the Himalayas and Tibetan culture. He is particularly fond of the Dolpo in Nepal, a remote region with villages over 4,000 m above sea level, surrounded by beautiful snowy mountains in the central Himalayas.
This region is shaped by Bon, the pre-Buddhist religion of Tibet and Tibetan Buddhism of the ancient teaching traditions. In the Tibetan cultural area, Dolpo is also known as the land of hermits and respected Buddhist masters.
From his extensive trekking tours through fertile valleys, deep gorges and over stormy passes, Peter Prinz brought back numerous photos of the friendly residents, the magnificent landscape and their cultural assets to create this homepage.
